BJP Playing Divisive Politics in State: APCC

GUWAHATI: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Ripun Bora has alleged that the BJP has been engaged in divisive politics in Assam. He said that the party has been active in politics on communal and religious lines in the State. Bora said this while reacting to a statement made by State BJP president Ranjit Kumar Dass on Monday. Talking to the media on Tuesday Bora quoted Dass as saying that ‘we feel like being in Assam when we’re in upper Assam. I feel sorry even while in my home district, Barpeta’. Bora said: “We’ve said time and again that the BJP is active in divisive politics in Assam. With such a statement on Monday Dass has yet again proved the party’s communal motive. One should not divide the State on communal and religious lines for the sake of politics. The people of Assam should also realize it.”
