GUWAHATI, Oct 14: The State BJP Minority Morcha has hailed the decisions taken by Union Minister of Minority Affairs jma Heptulla on October 11 on Wakf Board property all over the country. The Morcha has also welcomed the decisions taken at the October 11 meeting between Dispur and State Wakf Board.

State BJP Minority Morcha president Mominul Aowal said that decisions taken by Heptullah like training for minorities etc., are set to benefit the minorities of Assam. He said that the State Government should implement each and every decision taken at the October 11 meeting, failing which the Morcha will agitate afresh. The Morcha, according to him, has been agitating since 2011 leading to the removal of Abdul Khaleque as State Wakf Board chairman.

Aowal said that State Assembly Speaker Prab Gogoi also formed a House committee to look into the matter of encroachment of State Wakf Board property, and the committee submitted its report to the House on March 31 last only to be ignored by Dispur.

Dispur, according to Aowal, is compelled to hold a meeting with the Wakf Board only after the Board chairman disclosed the encroachment of board property in the State.

The State Wakf Board has 50,000 bigha, 13 katha and 2 lessas land but that does not benefit the minority people due to encroachment.
