Blood donation camp organized in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: On the eve of 'World Blood Donor Day' on June 14, the 151 Base Hospital of the Army, in collaboration with the Blood Bank of the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital organized a voluntary blood donation camp on Monday.

The chief guest of the camp was Maj Gen Vikas Saini, SM, VSM, GOC, 51 Sub Area. Prof (Dr) Achyut Chandra Baishya, Principal, GMCH also graced the occasion, stated a press release.

The blood donation camp witnessed enthusiastic participation of Army personnel. 74 serving personnel voluntarily donated blood in the camp. The event celebrated theme for 'World Blood Donor Day' 2022 which is 'Donating blood is an act of solidarity'. This theme highlights the importance of donating blood and how it can save valuable lives. This camp was organized as a military-civilian aid to build up blood resources in the State.
