Guwahati: BJP legislator from Bokajan Constituency Numal Momin lodged an FIR at Dispur Police Station after he received a death threat call from an unknown number on November 9, 2018.

As per a report, the unknown caller using the number (+4410526) had called up the legislator several times for past one week.

So far the identity of the unknown caller had not been ascertained yet by the police; the MLA while speaking to The Sentinel Digital informed that the unidentified caller had threatened to kill him within next seven days. "I have shared all the call recordings to the Dispur Police and now waiting for the updates," said MLA Momin.

After the preliminary investigations, the police sources located the number to Colombia.

It may also be mentioned that earlier Prime Minister Narendra Modi also received a death threat in an email to a senior police official in New Delhi.

Reportedly, the agencies received the mail in the official email id of Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik.

The threat is in the form of a one-liner and mentions the specific date in 2019 on which the PM will be allegedly attacked. The details of the mail, however, were not disclosed.

Interestingly, sources have told earlier to a national media that the email was sent from a jail in Assam.

Following the matter, the Security and intelligence agencies were also kept on high alert.

Similarly, Union Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and MP Uttara Kannada, Anant Kumar Hegde received a death threat call in his land phone number.

A complaint was lodged by his personal assistant Suresh Govind Shetty at Sirsi Police station thereafter.
