Bomb diffused

GUWAHATI, May 2: For a while, the city dwellers in Guwahati were shocked and terrified on Wednesday morning following the recovery of a live explosive from Basista. According to source, the Basista police on a tip off bumped into a private passenger bus bearing registration No AS-15C-8302 on its arrival in the city from Barpeta. Apparently, the police recovered an unowned bag containing the explosive.

The bomb squad immediately rushed to the Basista police station and immediately took off the explosive to Khanapara veterinary playground and diffused it safely. Considering the low intensity of the shell, the police suspected involvement of some miscreants who intended to terrify the common public. Till this evening, the police have detained the driver and his associates for preliminary interrogation. The driver was said to be revealed that on entering the city, some suspicious individuals got off at Jalukbari.
