Book shops to reopen from today in Kamrup (M) district between 10 am to 5 pm

GUWAHATI: The Assam State Government has allowed booksellers to open shops in the Kamrup (Metro) district from 10 am to 5 pm from Thursday onwards.

The book stalls will only be allowed to deal with curriculum books for students only. The stalls will primarily arrange home delivery of books and people will only be allowed to collect books from the book shops/stalls without using vehicles.

According to reports, the administration will not issue any separate passes to any person for collection of books from the shops. Strict instructions have been issued for the employees to wear masks, sanitization facility and social distancing at book stalls. For the movement of the employees and vehicles, the proprietors of the book shops will have to issue identity cards to them.
