GUWAHATI: The city of Guwahati once again had their hair-raising following the sentational Boragaon murder case.

Notaby body parts of a married woman that were found wrapped in plastic bags have been finally solved by the police.

Reportedly, the body was recovered from the couple's bedroom.

The police have identified the woman as Antima Gupta, who is the wife of Santosh Gupta. The married couple was residing in a rented apartment in the area.

It has been revealed that one Debjani Das had brutally murdered Antima Gupta on Thursday before chopping her body in pieces.

During interrogation today, Debojani confessed to bludgeoning her to death following a fight over Antima's husband as the police confirmed this case to be of trouble caused due to an extra-marital affair. Sources said the fight between the victim and Debojani occurred due to her illicit relationship with the victim's husband, Santosh Gupta.

After a heated fight with Antima on Thursday, Debojani battered her, chopped her body into multiple pieces and kept the body pieces inside a bag in the couple's bedroom.

Debjani Das, along with the family members of the couple had been called in for questioning by Guwahati police.

Interestingly, the police had launched a search operation for Antima Gupta after her husband had filed a missing complaint at the Gorchuk Police Station.

The police recovered a mobile phone and the murder weapon from the spot. Earlier on Wednesday afternoon, Santosh Gupta filed a missing complaint of his wife at Gorchuk Police Station.

The couple lived in a rented apartment. Further Police also interrogated Rajesh Gupta -- relative of the victim, and her husband Santosh Gupta. In a late-night development, Devjani Das was arrested in this case.
