GUWAHATI: The Border Roads Organization under the Ministry of Defence, which is involved in the construction of roads, bridges and airstrips in the remote border areas, is celebrating the Har Ghar Tiranga programme in a big way.
A press release quoted Additional Director General of BRO HQ, Guwahati, Praveen Kumar Hanumant Singh, as saying that the organization is also celebrating the Har Ghar Tiranga programme with a lot of enthusiasm in the campus. Singh said that keeping in view the welfare of the troops, a five-room guest house has been constructed under this programme in Jalukbari here, to further improve the care of its soldiers so that the jawans and their families can avail the services of this guest house at the lowest cost whenever they visit Guwahati.
The festival of Rakhi Raksha Bandhan was also celebrated in the premises of the BRO at Lankeshwar here, in which all the soldiers were tied with Rakhis by sisters.
Moreover, the Independence Day ceremony on August 15 is being organized with great enthusiasm in the BRO premises at Lankeshwar. A grand flag hoisting ceremony has been organized which will witness the participation of all officers, supervisors and other ranks. As is customary, Supervisors and JCOs have invited all the senior officials to their officers' mess on Monday, while Bara Khana has been organized in the respective unit lines mess.
