GUWAHATI: A campus placement-cum-job fair was conducted by Educative Guwahati in Ulubari Higher Secondary School, Guwahati as a part of implementation of National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) under Samagra Siksha, Assam in which renowned corporates like Eureka Forbes, Kutchina Home, Reliance Smart, Convergence, Hero Honda etc. participated as recruiters.
Samagra Siksha, formerly Rastriya Madhyamik Siksha Abhijan (RMSA) Assam, started implementing National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) in provincialized government schools through vocational training partners like Educative Guwahati since 2017 in Retail, Information Technology, Security, Agriculture and Healthcare. Gradually the government introduced newer subjects like Animal Health, Tourism, Beauty and Wellness, Horticulture, etc. All government schools implementing NSQF have two job roles or subjects based on skill development.
NSQF follows a competency-based curriculum wherein candidates are tested on the skills acquired and provided certificate of proficiency of national standard. The certificated candidates are very highly regarded and recognized by the corporates. The courses are unique in nature have on-the-job training every year along with lectures from industry and domain specific experts.
The job fair was attended by over 100 students from 8 provincialized government schools namely Kamakhya HS School, Cotton Collegiate HS School, T.C. Girls HS School, Kamrup Academy HS School, Jalukbari HS School, Bidyamandir HS School, Ulubari HS School and Banikanta HS School. Class 12 candidates of these schools got an opportunity to get recruited in corporate houses based on the skills they acquired during NSQF aligned course in their respective schools.
