Biswanath: Assam State Primary Teachers'
Association (ASPTA) in a meeting held on Friday (November 27) in Biswanath has
made a serious allegation against the State Finance and Education Department
for non-compliance of Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal's instructions.
The meeting was called by ASPTA with all the headteachers of the Biswanath subdivision.
Dulal Bora,
President of Bishwanath subdivision Primary Teachers Association presided the
meeting.
Ratul
Chandra Goswami, Editor-in-Chief of ASPTA said, "Primary schools still do not
have a post for the headteacher. Earlier the Association had discussed 36
times officially and over 100 times informally with the State Govt in this
context."
He said that Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on December 30, 2019, stated that all the posts of the senior assistant teachers would be converted to Headmaster soon but did not do anything yet.
The
Association has decided that if the state government does not announce the
posts of primary school by December 15, then from 2021 the teachers of primary
schools would not cooperate with the government in any work except academic work.
According
to Goswami, CM's directives were not
implemented by the state's finance and education departments.
The meeting
was attended by about 200 headmasters of Bishwanath Sub-Divisional Primary
Schools.
