Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal condoles death of Buddhist mentor

GUWAHATI: Noted Buddhist religious mentor Bhante Baba (U Gunawanta Mahather) passed away at the age of 100 years at Margherita on Saturday. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal condoled the death of the spiritual guru. He in a message, he said that the demise of the spiritual guru is an irreparable loss to the State in the spiritual world.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister on Saturday visited and took stock of health of ailing eminent litterateur Promod Chandra Bhattacharya who has been under treatment at a private hospital in Guwahati. Sonowal’s media adviser Hrishikesh Goswami also accompanied Sonowal during the visit.
