Chief of Army General Bipin Rawat visits Nagaland, meets Governor RN Ravi

GUWAHATI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Bipin Rawat visited Spear Corps at Dimapur, Kohima and Headquarter Eastern Command, Kolkata, on November 7 and 8.

The General had detailed discussion with senior military and civil officials including chairman Cease Fire Monitoring Group and Nagaland Governor RN Ravi on the security situation along the borders. During his meeting with the Governor, Rawat was accompanied by the Army Commander of Eastern Command, Lieutenant General Anil Chauhan.

The Army Chief discussed the security situation in the State and apprised the Governor of the actions being taken by the Army and the Assam Rifles in coordination with civilian agencies, in maintaining peace and tranquillity in Nagaland and along the Indo-Myanmar border. At Rangapahar Military Station, the COAS interacted with officers and men and exhorted them to continue working for the cause of the organization.
