Chief Secretary Jishnu Barua treks city hillside during 'Har Ghar Dastak' campaign

GUWAHATI: Chief Secretary of Assam, Jishnu Barua has been seen taking the onus on himself to ensure maximum single dose and second dose COVID-19 vaccination in the city through the 'Har Ghar Dastak' campaign.

On Tuesday for the second successive day, the senior bureaucrat was seen trekking on the Patarkuchi hillside in search of people who have not yet taken the COVID vaccine.

The Chief Secretary was accompanied by Kamrup (Metro) Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha, ADC Gauri Sankar Das and health department staff.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner Secretary of the General Administration department and observer of the 'Har Ghar Dastak' campaign of Kamrup (metro) district, MS Manivannan also inspected the COVID vaccination centres at Jalukbari and Garigaon along with the Additional Deputy Commissioner and health officials. He also personally visited several households and made arrangement for vaccination.

He also persuaded several people who were reluctant to get vaccinated to take the vaccine.
