CISF personnel seized Gold bars at Guwahati Airport

GUWAHATI: The CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) personnel seized three gold bars weighing about 498 grams from a passenger who concealed in bars in his body cavity. The yellow metal was detected during security check at the Guwahati Airport.

The passenger has been identified as Vicky ShamlalDodeja, a resident of Maharashtra, bound for Mumbai from Guwahati by IndiGo flight No.6E-433 (STD 1850 hrs).

On enquiry, he could not produce any valid document to carry such gold bars. Thereafter, the said passenger along with the gold bars worth approximately Rs 25 lakh was handed over to custom officials for legal action in the matter.
