City bus services suspended till 24 March to thwart the spread of Coronavirus

In an aim to help thwart the infection of the deadly Coronavirus, the city bus authority has, reportedly, suspended all its services in all roads in Guwahati till March 24. The direction has come into effect immediately, informed Pradip Das, president of the Guwahati Transport Authority. Das said to media that the direction has given to all city buses plying passengers in Guwahati to stop their services till March 24, 2020. “In view of the outbreak of the dreaded coronavirus we have decided to suspend our all city bus services till March 24. We cancelled movement of all city buses from today i.e. March 22, supporting the Janata Curfew called by our Prime Minister Modi,” he said. Confirming this Kamrup(M) Deputy Commissioner Bishwajit Pegu has said that the Guwahati Transport Authority has suspended all its city bus services till March 24. The deputy commissioner also appealed all to observe Janata Curfew on Sunday between 7am to 9pm.
