GUWAHATI: A cleanliness programme was organized on the premises of the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBI) on Friday to eliminate single-use plastic. The drive was conducted from the parking lot to the Shiva temple grounds near Dekapara.

The chief airport officer, Utpal Baruah, led the campaign. He mentioned that such initiatives are undertaken on a regular basis by the administration to free the premises and the surrounding region from single-use plastic. He also mentioned that this will ensure that foreign tourists have a wonderful first experience at the airport itself. The programme was initiated by Vistara Airlines under its corporate social responsibility programme. Pranay Roy, station manager of Vistara at LGBI Airport, was also present, along with all the officials from Vistara Airlines.
