CM Sonowal and Minister Himanta should resign from their respective positions, claimed Upamanyu Hazarika

Guwahati: On Thursday, Prabajan Virodhi Manch convener and senior advocate Upamanyu Hazarika had claimed the Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and State Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma should resign from their respective positions in the Government.

In a press statement, Upamanyu Hazarika stated that both the leaders have failed in their so-called noble attempt to protect the indigenous by bringing in more Bangladeshis is itself reason enough for them to resign their present posts in the Government, accepting responsibility.

He also mentioned that both the ministers should tender their resignation for their utter failure in their competitive flattery and sycophancy to please the Central leadership when the principled stand of the Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram and Manipur Chief Ministers has found favour with the Central Government.

Hazarika further stated that contentious Citizenship Amendment Bill was not taken up in the Rajya Sabha and not becoming an Act during the tenure of the present Government, thus, CM Sonowal and Minister Himanta should tender their resignations.
