CM Sonowal receives 1st dose of COVID-19 vaccine

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Thursday received the first dose of COVID 19 vaccine when he was administered with the jab at Guwahati Medical College & Hospital.

After receiving the jab, Chief Minister Sonowal thanked the Central Government for making the vaccination doses available in the State. Talking to the media, he also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Health & Family Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan.

CM Sonowal also said that State government has made elaborate arrangements for making the vaccination doses readily available to all sections of the people. At the same time, he requested all eligible people to come forward and take the vaccines and fortify themselves against the virus. Sonowal also thanked the people of Assam for adhering to all COVID 19 related precautionary guidelines and helping the state negotiate with the pandemic, stated a release.
