Coal-laden truck seized in Sonapur

GUWAHATI, Aug 22: The Sonapur police seized a coal-loaded truck bearing registration no ML-04C-3082 and apprehended the driver identified as Jestarwal Lyngdoh vides case no Sonapur PS case no 272/18, U/S- 379/ 411 IPC on August 21 allegedly for carrying the load without valid permit. According to a police source, the coal loaded truck was detained at Tamulikuchi village by some local residents of the village which was coming from Meghalaya side towards Sarutari village. As soon as the Sonapur police was informed, ASI Sarat Kalita rushed to the spot and for being unable to produce any documents, the driver was arrested. Meanwhile, the driver has been forwarded to a 3-day police custody.
