Comment on Malik’s poem condemnable: Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX) President Kuladhar Saikia

GUWAHATI: AXX (Axam Xahitya Xabha) president Kuladhar Saikia has tweeted that the controversial comment made in the social media on one of the poems of Syed Abdul Malik is ‘condemnable’.

There has been a debate in the social media since April 21 when a professor of Mangaldai College uploaded a few lines of Malik’s poem ‘Moi Axomiya’ and allegedly termed it as an ‘ode to the Mughals’. Since then a debate has been underway in the social media on the issue. The debate has come to such a pass that a number of organizations have lodged an FIR against it at Hatigaon police station in Guwahati.

Tweeting on the issue, the AXX president and former DGP of the State said that the controversial comment in the social media on one of Syed Abdul Malik’s poem s is ‘condemnable’. He also said that nobody should ever neglect the priceless contributions made by Syed Abdul Malik in the formation of the Assamese nationality.
