Guwahati: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) in a memorandum to the President of India demanded a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) investigation into the alleged Rafale Deal Scam.
APCC on Saturday in the memorandum have alleged that the sordid saga of Loss to Public Exchequer was worth more than Rs 41,000 cr which compromises National Security and National Interests, Squandering the interests of the Government Company- Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).
APCC also claims that there has been a deliberate and flagrant violation of the mandatory ‘Defence Procurement Procedure’ by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, thus, they demanded a JPC to examine the charge of crony capitalism where the Reliance Pvt Ltd had been allegedly securing a contract worth Rs 1,30,000 Cr (Rs 30,000 offset contract+ Rs 1,00,000 Cr ‘Life Cycle Contract’).
The Indian National Congress had also demanded that PM Modi should be summoned forthwith before the JPC along with the Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in order to expose the Rafale Deal.
MP and APCC President, Ripun Bora on behalf of all the Congress workers in Assam had urged upon the President of India through Governor of Assam Jagdish Mukh that as the head of the state the President of India should immediately intervene into the matter and affix the role and responsibility of PM Modi and all other public and private persons involved in the alleged Rafale Deal Scam.
Furthermore, APCC had demanded to control the skyrocketing prices of Petrol, Diesel, LPG Cylinder and other essential commodities. They also demanded to make available kerosene oil to the common people at reasonable prices.
It may be mentioned that APCC on Saturday had launched a massive protest and Raj Bhawan ‘Gherao’ programme in Guwahati against the BJP Government over the alleged Rafale Deal Scam and rising in price of Petrol, Diesel and other essential commodities.
