Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi moots 90:10 funding for ROBs, RUBs

GUWAHATI: Congress leader and Lok Sabha MP from the Kaliabor constituency Gaurav Gogoi on Wednesday urged the Railway Ministry to provide funds on 90:10 basis for construction of railway overbridges and underbridges in Assam and other Northeastern States.

Gogoi's appeal came in connection with a question raised by him in the Lowe House of Parliament, after the Railway Minister informed that the cost of constructing railway overbridges (ROB) has to be borne by the State Government concerned. Gogoi specifically mentioned the need for ROB/RUB (railway underbridges) in Chungajan and Tengani in the Golaghat district, informed a press release.
