GUWAHATI: The Congress Legislature Party (CLP), Assam met on January 21 at its chamber in the Assam Legislative Assembly premises. Important issues such as the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016, NRC, grant of ST status to six communities of Assam, the law-and-order situation and the failed promises of various issues in the Sarbananda Sonowal ministry were discussed.
The Congress Legislature Party also discussed the problems of the tea garden and ex-tea garden workers in the presence of leaders of the community, including Rupesh Gowala and Bhagirath Karan. The CLP has decided to take up the issues both within and outside the Assam Legislative Assembly in the days to come.
