GUWAHATI: “Influx of illegal Bangladeshi nationals gained monumental during the Congress regime. They laid red carpet to the Bangladeshi nationals to settle in the soil of the State,” said State BJP Spokesperson Nomal Momin.
Talking to the reporters here on Wednesday, the Spokesperson said that further influx can be stopped only by bringing in force the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016. “As per the cut off year as mentioned in the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016, no foreigners, irrespective of Hindu or Muslims will be allowed to settle in India after December 31, 2014,” Momin said.
Talking to the reporters, another spokesperson of the State BJP, Muminul Aowal said that only the Muslim migrants originated from Bangladesh occupied the Xatra lands. “BJP has been trying to end this phenomenon perpetually,” he added.
