The Cotton University authority had earlier informed that the combined merit list of the applicants for undergraduate admissions will be published on Thursday (August 13).

Although the Cotton University merit list was earlier scheduled to be published on August 11, the university authority through a notification announced that the list will be published on Thursday instead.

"We regret to inform you that the combined merit list of applicants of UG admissions (2020) in Cotton University will not be possible to be published today. The list will be published on 13/08/2020 afternoon," a notification issued by the academic registrar, stated.

As per the official notification of the university, all admissions will be strictly provisional until physical document verification is done after the commencement of offline classes in the university.

Meanwhile, there is still uncertainty over the resumption of classes after the long delay due to the coronavirus-induced lockdown.

Assam education minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, meanwhile, has said that the Government is eyeing a reopening of the educational institutions in the month of September.
