Cotton University (CU) Election: Girl Contesting For General Secretary (GS) Post

GUWAHATI: While the wind of election is blowing in every university campus in the State, a girl contesting for General Secretary Post is grabbing the attention of everyone. Rishikanya Batswa from the department of Assamese of Swahid Kanaklata Girls Hostel has filed her nomination for General Secretary (GS) in the Cotton University (CU) students’ union election. Her nomination is going to be landmark as she is going to be the first female to contest for the GS post in the history of general election of students’ union of Cotton University. Batswa said, “I have come out to contest not because of the fact that there is no girl contestant, but because of the fact that I really want to do something good for the sake of our university.”
