COVID-19: Kamrup (M) DC Pallav Gopal Jha orders strict vigil

GUWAHATI: In view of the recent spurt in COVID-19 cases, Kamrup (M) Deputy Commissioner Pallav Gopal Jha on Saturday instructed all Magistrates to maintain a strict vigil to ensure that no one is allowed to enter crowded places like shopping malls and markets without being double-vaccinated.

Jha presided over a meeting regarding SOP implementation at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner's office here which was attended by the ADCs, Circle Officers, Assistant Commissioners and district-level officials of the Health Department.

Instructions were issued during the meeting to increase the number of COVID-19 tests, along with prioritizing the aspects of vaccination and home isolation.

Meanwhile, officials of the district administration have started monitoring shopping malls, markets etc., to ensure adherence to the latest SOP.
