GUWAHATI: In continuation of the measures taken in the wake of COVID-19, it has been further decided that all regular passenger train services on Indian Railways including the Premium trains, Mail/Express trains, Passenger trains services, Narrow gauge trains etc., will remain cancelled until further advice. Accordingly, all regular passenger-carrying trains coming towards NF Railway and originating from NF Railway will also remain cancelled.

It has been also decided that all tickets booked for the above trains for the period up to August 12, 2020 will be cancelled; and a full refund will be given to the passengers. For PRS counter generated tickets, refund across counters can be taken up to six months from the date of journey. For e-tickets, the refund will be made automatically, stated a release.

Running of Shramik Special trains which started with effect from May 1, Rajdhani Special trains which started with effect from May 12 and other passenger special trains which started with effect from June 1 for movement of the stranded and other people will however continue.

Moreover, to ensure uninterrupted supplies of the essential commodities both for common people and various industries spreading throughout the country, movement of freight, parcel and POL carrying trains will continue.

It may be mentioned here that in the NFR area, two Rajdhani Special trains and six other passenger special trains are presently under operation connecting cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Amritsar and Kolkata to cater to the requirement of people who are in need of urgent travel, the release added.
