CPI protest against ignorance towards migrant workers and poor people

GUWAHATI: The Communist Party of India (CPI), Assam State Council staged a protest against the 'ignorance towards migrant workers and poor people, on Tuesday. The protestors held the sitting demonstration in front of the CPI District Council office (Abhiram House) from 12 noon to 1 pm, maintaining all lockdown norms.

The protestors submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister of India against 'indifference to the plight of migrant workers and poor people'.

Through the memorandum, the protestors demanded more trains and buses for migrant workers with food and drinking water. Some of their other demands include - Rs 10,000 as travel allowance to each worker, no dilution of labour laws and no conditionality for ration.
