GUWAHATI: Dandi March anniversary was commemorated through bhajans and other live art programmes at an Exhibition organized at Assam Khadi & Village Industries Board Complex in the city. The week long exhibition organized by Bureau of Outreach & Communication was inaugurated on Monday, marks the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The life and works of the Father of the Nation are displayed in the exhibition through literature and photographs with focus on rare photographs and complete timeline.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Kuldeep Singh Dhatwalia, Director General (North East), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Guwahati in presence of senior officers of the Central Government. A media workshop was also organized for the benefit of pressmen on Income Tax Act and its application in Tribal areas.
In view of the model code of conduct and ensuing elections, the N E Zonal office of Ministry of Information & Broadcasting will also organize a short discussion on social media and its impact at the exhibition venue on March 15. The MIB representative in Assam State level MCMC Shri Pallabh Chakravorty will also discuss the plan of action on the role of MCMC. To further strengthen the social media outreach in this direction, the Zonal office will also hire social media executives in Guwahati and Imphal in addition to programmers and technical assistant.
