The Gauhati High Court has fixed the next hearing of Tea Tribe leader Daniel Topno murder case on October 20, 2020.

GUWAHATI: The Gauhati High Court has fixed the next hearing of Tea Tribe leader Daniel Topno murder case on October 20, 2020.
The case was heard on Monday. However, the CBI sought more time and that led the High Court to fix the next date of hearing.
The Tea Tribe leader was killed on September 26, 2000 at Gohpur. The government did entrust the CBI to investigate the murder. The investigating agency accused Ripun Bora in the murder case. However, on February 10, 2014 the District and Sessions Court acquitted Bora of the murder case.
Challenging the judgement of the District and Sessions Court the CBI moved the Gauhati High Court with the case (Crl.Rev.p./230/2014) in 2014.
