DC Biswajeet Pegu Issues ‘Show Cause’ Notices To 71 Officers

GUWAHATI: Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kamrup (M) Biswajeet Pegu, invoking the power as promulgated under the representation of People Act 1951, has issued a ‘show cause’ notice to 71 Presiding Officers. These officers of various departments were allotted duties in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls 2019 and failed to attend their training without providing any justification or reason of absence in this matter. Biswajeet Pegu has ordered the 71 officers to provide the cause of nonattendance within the next two days. Failing which, Disciplinary Action will be initiated under the provision of the People Act 1951, Pegu stated.
