Decks cleared for paying regular salary to contractual teachers

GUWAHATI: The Assam Government had recently announced that henceforth additional teachers engaged on contractual basis under the Secondary Education (SE) Department would receive their salary under the Rules of Pay (ROP) system instead of the Fixation of Ceiling (FOC) system.

In this regard, the Director of the Secondary Education Department issued a notification to all Inspectors of Schools on Thursday to instruct the various heads of the educational institutions and transfer the beneficiaries' data (contractual teachers) from Dispur Treasury to their respective DDO Code by submitting the ECS Data at the Treasury Office concerned.

Contractual assistant teachers of secondary schools will now receive regular salaries, as opposed to irregular payment till now.
