GUWAHATI: IPS officer Deepak Kumar took charge as the Commissioner of Police, Police Commissionerate, Guwahati on Monday when his predecessor Pradip Chandra Saloi retired on superannuation.
Taking to the media after taking charge, Kumar said: “I’m going to analyse the challenges before policing in Guwahati, and act accordingly. I hope in the New Year Guwahati and its residents will stay protected. We’re more agile on women’s security. I’m going to sort out issues like decreasing the number of pending cases by holding talks with higher-up officers.”
