Directorate of Geology and Mining, Assam distributed relief materials to needy in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The Directorate of Geology and Mining, Assam distributed relief materials to needy people in Dakhingaon, on Sunday.

A group of employees of the DGM including Director Ikramul Hussain, Joint Director Naren Deka distributed food items to over 50 people of the area.

Joint Director Naren Deka said, “We urge the people to isolate themselves in their homes and not to come out without any emergency. The immediate initiative taken by the state government to fight the deadly COVID-19 is appreciable. Following the appeal made by Himanta Biswa Sarma we have come here to help the needy and we urge everyone to help the needy in their areas.” Amid the nationwide lockdown, food crisis faced by the poor has become a major concern. Among these, mostly the daily wage earners are unable to buy essentials goods. Till now, various NGOs along with the government have come out to help this section of people.
