GUWAHATI: The District Election Officer of Kamrup Metropolitan Election District has imposed some restrictions on the printing of election pamphlets, posters etc. as per section 127A of the Representation of the People Act, 1951. According to a notice issued by the District Election Officer on Wednesday, no person shall print or publish any election pamphlet or poster without mentioning the names and addresses of printer and publisher on its face.

Moreover, any election pamphlet or poster should have a declaration as to the identity of the publisher signed by himself and attested by two persons to whom he is personally known which is to be delivered by him to the printer in duplicate. On the other hand, after printing of the documents, the printer should send one copy of the declaration together with the copy of document to the Chief Electoral Officer in the case of capital of the State or to the district magistrate in case of the district in which it is printed.
