District Magistrate ordered Inquiry into killing of two youths

GUWAHATI: The Kamrup (M) District Magistrate has ordered separate inquiries into the death of two youths – Dipanjal Das (18) of Chhaygaon in Kamrup district and Abdul Alim of Patacharkuchi in Barpeta district – in two separate firing incidents in Guwahati on December 12, 2019. While Dipanjal sustained bullet injuries in a firing incident at Lachit Nagar, Abdul Alim was injured in firing at Lalunggoan. Dipanjal breathed his last on December 12 and Abdul Alim on December 15.
Additional District Magistrate Bipul Kumar Das is to conduct the inquiry into the circumstances leading to the death of Dipanjal Das, and Additional District Magistrate Manoj Kumar Saikia is to inquire into the death of Abdul Alim. Both the Additional District Magistrates have been asked to submit their respective reports with all relevant and required documents for onward submission to the NHRC and the AHRC.
