Doctor and driver arrested for assaulting traffic personnel in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: Bhangagarh police arrested Dr. Ranvir Paul and his driver Mokbul Ali and produced them before the court that sent them to judicial custody. A case was registered against the duo on Wednesday night.

According to the FIR of the case, Dr. Ranvir Paul was coming in his car (AS11G7007) to Bhangagarh from the Rajgarh Road on the wrong side. This prompted the traffic police constable on duty, Birender Tiwari to stop the car. To that, an irate Dr. Paul got alighted from his car and landed a blow on the traffic personnel's face. Soon other traffic personnel rushed to the spot and caught Dr. Paul and his driver.

Constable Birender Tiwari filed an FIR at Bhangagarh Police Station in that regard and a case (429/20 u/s 294/353/506 of IPC) leading to the registration of the case.
