Don Bosco scouts win Lakshmi Mazumdar award
GUWAHATI: The Don Bosco Scouts and Guides, Assam State Association secured the first position in the coveted Lakshmi Mazumdar Award (Scout Section) for their dedicated service to community and community development work during the year 2019-2020, stated a press release.
Father Sebastian Mathew, Principal of Don Bosco School, Guwahati received the award on behalf of the school from Father Januarius S Sangma, Provincial, Guwahati Province of Salesians, at a ceremony here recently, which incidentally was the inaugural ceremony of the centenary year celebrations of the Salesians in the North-East (1922-2022).
A host of school students, teachers, other prominent Salesians like Father Benny Alex, Father Joseph Mung and veteran scout master RA Lazar were present on the occasion.
