Don Bosco University Vice-Chancellor arrested by Sonapur Police

GUWAHATI: Sonapur Police on Tuesday arrested the Vice-Chancellor of Assam Don Bosco University in connection to the suicide of entrepreneur George Bordoloi.

Vice-Chancellor of Assam Don Bosco University, Father Stephen Mavely was arrested on Tuesday. He was detained by police for questioning on Monday. Father Mavely has been remanded to one-day police custody. Sonapur Police has registered a case (113/22 u/s 306).

George Bordoloi, a Guwahati-based entrepreneur, committed suicide on Sunday. In a note that he left behind, he accused Father Stephen Mavely of abetting his suicide, among other things.
