Don Bosco University Vice-Chancellor gets bail

GUWAHATI: Vice-Chancellor of Assam Don Bosco University, Father Stephen Mavely, who was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the suicide of Guwahati-based entrepreneur George Bordoloi, was released on bail on Thursday. The Gauhati High Court granted him bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 25,000, with two sureties of the like amount subject to the satisfaction of the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Kamrup (metro).

George Bordoloi, a Guwahati-based entrepreneur, committed suicide on Sunday. In a note that he left behind, he accused Father Stephen Mavely of abetting his suicide, among other things.
