Draft National Register of Citizens (NRC) published in 78 NRC Sewa Kendras

GUWAHATI, July 30: Along with other districts of the state, the complete draft NRC was published in 78 NRC Sewa Kendras (NSKs) of Kamrup (M) district on Monday. After the publication of draft NRC, Kamrup (M) district Deputy Commissioner Virendra Mittal visited several NSKs located in and around the district, a communiqué said.

During the first half of the day Mittal visited the Bamunimaidam Model NSK which includes NSK No 13, 23 and 24. He took stock of the duties discharged by the officials for the public to show them the draft NRC. He also expressed gratefulness to the officials for whose relentless effort this exercise has become a fruitful one.

Dc Mittal said that those excluded from the draft NRC should not be in fear and stressed that they will get sufficient time for their claim and objection to include in the final draft NRC. Mittal also visited Zoo Road Tiniali Modal NSK which includes NSK No 9 and 10 and Dispur Model NSK which includes NSK No 8 and 11.

Meanwhile, ADC KC Pegu in his visit to several NSKs briefed the officials for further process of the NRC exercise which will be started from August 7.

The break out of Circle wise NSKs in the Kamrup (M) district are Azara – 5, Chandrapur – 5, Dispur – 29, Guwahati – 25 and Sonapur -14, the communiqué added.
