Drugs, ganja seized; 4 held by East Guwahati Police District

GUWAHATI: A team of the East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) from the Dispur Police Station arrested two drug peddlers - Md Rahul Ali of Mukalmua and Atikur Rahman of Hajo - at Survey here on Monday.

Police sources said that nine vials of heroin, a motorbike and a mobile phone were seized from their possession.

The sources added that the peddlers were posing as fish vendors and mixing with other regular vendors of the area.

In another incident, the Basistha police recovered more than 50 kg of ganja from a vehicle on Monday and arrested two persons in this connection – Bikash Jamatia and Bishuadon Jamatia.

Police sources said that the ganja was being brought from Tripura.
