Drugs seized, one arrested at Sonapur toll gate

GUWAHATI: Drugs – 445 gm Charas packed in 28 packets, 43 gm Cocaine packed in 2 packets, and 25 gm Ecstasy drug Skype tablets weighing 25 gm – at Sonapur toll gate under Sonapur Police Station on Saturday.

According to police sources, on the basis of input regarding trafficking of suspected narcotic substances an operation was carried out by a team of Crime Branch, Guwahati along with staff of Sonapur Police Station and one bus (AS 01 LC 5778) coming from Lakhimpur to Guwahati was intercepted at Sonapur toll gate. Thereafter, the police searched the luggage belonging to a person namely Debasish Baruah @ DJ Brahmin of Bhetapara and recovered the consignment of drugs.
