Drugs Worth Rs 1 Crore Seized By Sleuths In Guwahati City

GUWAHATI: Drugs worth Rs 1 crore was seized by the sleuths of the Crime Branch of the State police from Sixth Mile in Guwahati on Sunday. The man carrying the drugs – Arman Bhai hailing from Bishnupur in Manipur – was also caught. He is 31.

The quantity of drugs caught is 350 grams in 24 packets carried by the man in his piggyback.

According to the officer-in-charge of Dispur police station Biren Baruah, the consignment was meant for supply to a person in Guwahati. The drug caught is being injected in the body by drug users after dissolving it with distilled water.

The OC said that the man is still to disclose anything clearly. “We’re trying to elicit more facts from him,” he said.
