GUWAHATI: Large parts of northeast India, including Guwahati felt tremors at around 10:16 a.m. on Friday. The epicentre of the earthquake is said to be in the Sylhet district of Bangladesh, near the international border in Meghalaya. "Earthquake of Magnitude: 4.8, Occurred on June 16, 10:16:15 IST, Lat: 24.86, Long: 91.98, Depth: 70 Km, Region: Bangladesh," tweeted the National Centre for Seismology regarding the earthquake. No damages were, however, reported because of the earthquake in the city.
