Election Commission Ties Up With NFR, Flags Off Gandhidham Express

GUWAHATI: The Election Commission has tied up with Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) to increase awareness of voting rights of citizens for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2019. A train, Gandhidham Express was flagged off from Kamakhya Junction railway station on Wednesday, April 3 by Mukesh Sahu, Chief Electoral Officer of Assam. The train will carry messages of elections as a festival of democracy of every citizen across the country.

“This is an initiative of the Election Commission which we call the SVEEP (Systematic Voter Education Election Participation) project, to raise voting awareness. This inauguration is part of the project and we will be providing SVEEP material to all the passengers and hope to educate them about the importance of exercising their franchise”, said Sahu.
