Excise Department continue raids; 2 arrested with fermented wash in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The Excise Department has arrested two women with around 150 kilograms of fermented wash and 30 litres of illicit let, from Hengrabari’s Lichubagan area on Sunday. The duo have been booked under section 53(1) a of Assam Excise act. The Department conducted raids at various places including Beltola, Bakrapara, Bhetapara and Dhirenpara. It destroyed three sets of distilling apparatus, 2.5 quintles rice and sugar used to manufacture ID liquor; 300 kg fermented wash, 50 litres of ID liquor and seized 6 cartons of IMFL. A person was held ring the raids.
