Factional Rivalry Cripples All Assam Minority Students’ Union

GUWAHATI, July 23: In what can be termed as self-motivated and self-proclaimed, the top executives of the All Assam Minority Students’ Union (AAMSU) have again been polarized. As such, Azizur Rahman has once again been reinstated as the AAMSU’s new president.

He was declared president in the general session of the AAMSU which was held in Guwahati on Monday. Notably, the last general session of AAMSU held on from March 31 to April 2, last at Kharopetia in Darrang district instated Rezaul Karim Sarkar as its president.

However, Sarkar and his executives were declared as illegal on Monday. Even earlier than this, the AAMSU was divided in three different factions. Under this given situation, AAMSU was separately led by Rafiqul Islam, Mamud Hasan and Abdul rahim Ahmed.
