Female infanticide creates stir in city

GUWAHATI: In a huge blow to humanity shrouding the essence of civilization, yet another case of female infanticide has been discovered here in the city on Thursday. A new born girl child was found dead in the dustbin of Islampur near Nehru Stadium during the morning hours. With the umbilical cord still attached, the infant was presumably discarded by family members’ right after she was plucked from her mother’s womb. An innocent victim massacred by the brutality of obnoxious human thought, was thrown away like a pile of garbage. The discovery was made by the local residents who informed the police authorities. Investigation is under way as the authorities are trying to unearth the culprits behind this monstrous act.
